Princess Beatrice visits the Sick Kids Friends Foundation , Thursday, Aug 21, 2014
Staff and patients at the Royal Hospital for Sick Children in Edinburgh were delighted to receive a visit from their Royal Patron HRH Princess Beatrice yesterday, who came to officially open the new £550, 000 Gamma Camera funded by SKFF.
The Princess had a chance to meet with patients currently benefitting from the new machine as well as seeing some of the projects that the Sick Kids friends Foundation have funded since her last visit in 2013. These included the Secret Garden interactive therapy installation, the new Wayfinding Scheme and gorgeous artwork created by Illustrator in Residence Cate James. Princess Beatrice was also shown the impressive designs for the new childrens hospital, due for completion in 2017.
David Reith, Chair of the Trustees of SKFF said:
“As we continue to look towards a new era for the Royal Hospital for Sick Children in Edinburgh and the Sick Kids Friends Foundation, it is fantastic to have the full support of the Princess and to share our vision for the future with her.”
I need not tell you that since we left, all my thoughts have been with you at Windsor, and that your image fills my whole soul. Even in my dreams I never imagined that I should find so much love on earth. How that moment shines for me when I was close to you, but with your hand in mine! Those days flew by so quickly, but our separation will fly equally so. Ernest wishes me to say a thousand nice things to you. With promises of unchanging love and devotion, your ever true Albert.
